Well, here we are. The end of another wonderful semester.

Its hard to put into words all that these months have brought us all - dinners, devotionals, baptisms, family moments, conversations, games, laughter, joy, tears, faith, discussions, Bible studies, and lots, and lots, and lots, of good food.

God has been truly good to us all - and while this semester draws to a close, we look forward to the new semester on the horizon where new memories will be made, new friends will join us, and new opportunities arise. God is truly good!  

We had a wonderful study on the Holy Spirit last night - an evening discussing how He works in our lives, through the inspiration He provided in scripture, through prayer, and what the scriptures tell us about Him. It was a truly beautiful evening of study with so many students from so many different academic paths - medical, graduate school, animation, business, education, cyber security, ophthalmology, and more. God is truly good! 

Another wonderful Tuesday night Bible study completed for the semester! It is hard to believe that today is April 1st and we are in the last month of school. The semesters sure do seem to fly by so quickly.
Last night, we continued our study of Christian Evidences by looking at the premise of "Witchcraft, Sorcery, and Divination" from the Bible. It was a truly fascinating study to see what the Bible says about such practices - along with some great discussion.
Next week, we continue in the spiritual realm with a look at the Holy Spirit, Angels, and Demons. Join us Tuesdays at 7pm at CoHatch (Gateway) for our study and free food (Canes)! God is good.

February has come and gone - with lots of incredible moments, devotionals, Bible studies, and meals together - not to mention quite a few game nights!

Our on campus Bible studies, a study through Christian Evidences, has led us to discuss "Was Jesus a Real Historical Person?", "Is the Bible a Reliable Document?", "Dating the Books of the Bible," "Translations of the Bible," and "Translating the Bible - Greek and Hebrew."

Come and join us every Monday night for our devotional and Tuesdays nights on campus (CoHatch Gateway) for our weekly Bible study! 

Well, after a week of being iced and snowed in, we were finally able to meet in person again - and it was so good to be back together! We enjoyed a wonderful meal on Monday evening provided by one of our elders and his wife (Thanks David and Gretchen!). We then sang for a while and got to know some new people better - and then an epic game night! It is truly fantastic to have these moments of community and joy together.

On Tuesday, we gathered on campus to continue our Bible study on "Christian Evidences." We began by looking at the question, "Was Jesus a Real Person?" and then began looking at "Is the Bible Inspired?" We gave out new notebooks and enjoyed a wonderful conversation around the subject. If you are ever interested in joining us, come on by!

God is truly good. 

Well, tonight is the night! We kick off our new semester of Bible studies together as Buckeyes for Christ. This is a truly exciting time of the year and we hope that any and all will come and join us. So, if you are in the area, come and join us at CoHatch (Gateway) at 7pm this evening - and bundle up when you come! Its going to be a cold evening - but we will have warm food (Canes) inside and a great evening of study together.

God is good! 

We kicked off our new semester with a wonderful Monday night devotional at the Church of Christ on Fishinger Road. We meet each Monday at 6:30 for dinner, provided by local families from the congregation, enjoyed a time of singing and a devotional, and then spent some time in community playing games together. God is truly good!

As with most semesters, we welcomed some new guests, graduate students, college students, and locals - and it was a blast getting to know everyone. It truly is a wonderful place to be, Columbus! 

Well, the end of the year is officially here....and this year has been a really incredible one for the Buckeyes For Christ and college ministry at the Church of Christ on Fishinger Road. So, what all has happened over this past year?

We held 50 devotional times, 38 Tuesday night campus Bible studies and meals, connected with 42 new students from The Ohio State, had 104 Bible classes (Sundays and Wednesdays), held our first retreat in 5 years, hosted our first week-long spring-break campaign alongside Phi Kappa Alpha from Freed-Hardeman University, handed out 12,500 flyers, 768 plants, over 10,000 Buckeyes For Christ stickers, "tabled" on campus 9 times, dozens of lunches and dinners together, held 3 singing nights on campus, 4 "Skeptics Welcome" seminars, sent over 11,235 text-messages to students, and posted over 1200 on social media....not to mention our Christmas party, apple picking day, ice-cream nights, and more!

It has been a truly fantastic year, and we can't wait for all that lies ahead in the coming year for the program and all of our students. God is truly good!

Practice silence today, even for a few minutes. Turn off your phone, breathe deeply, and let your heart rest in God’s presence. Your suffering, held in His hands, becomes a space where His strength sustains you. Never forget—you are loved and you are not alone.

“To love God is to love His will.” — George MacDonald

MacDonald’s words challenge the fierce independence prized in young adulthood. You’re encouraged to chart your own course, to rely on your strength and ambition. But true freedom comes from loving God’s will, depending on Him rather than your own resources. This dependence feels counterintuitive, especially when the world equates strength with self-sufficiency, but it’s the path to a life aligned with divine purpose.

Dependence on God doesn’t mean passivity or abandoning your dreams. It means trusting that His will—revealed through Scripture, prayer, and community—is better than your plans, even when it leads through sacrifice or uncertainty. As you face decisions about careers, relationships, or faith, this surrender can feel vulnerable, but it frees you from the exhausting pressure to control everything.

Reflect on where you’re clinging to independence, whether in your future or your fears. Offer these to God, asking for the courage to love His will. Each step of dependence deepens your trust and reveals His faithfulness. Never forget—you are loved and you are not alone.

Another great night of study through the book of Luke! Tonight, we broke down Luke 3 and the genealogy of Jesus all the way back to Adam - including finding corresponding verses in the OT showing the lives of those listed in Luke.

History is alive and beautiful when we allow it to show us the beauty of Gods hand working all throughout it.

We also enjoyed a wonderful Monday evening of singing, good food, and a great discussion on community. God is truly good! 

Well, we are officially at Fall Break! Lots has happened over the past few weeks - Monday night devos, Tuesday Night Bible Studies, Wednesday night classes, weekend tailgates, and more! God is truly good - come and join us any time. 

Another wonderful evening together - studying God's word (1 Peter 1), eating pizza, singing hymns, and playing games late into the evening. God is truly good to us all - and never forget that you are always invited. 

We had a wonderful evening of Canes and studying from Luke 1. We dove deep into the story of Mary running to Elizabeth, the child in the womb jumping for joy, Elizabeth being the first one to call Jesus "Lord," and more! God is truly good. 

Imagine yourself, if you will, in a bustling lecture hall, where the air hums with the fervor of young minds eager to seize the world.

We've told this generation, with the best of intentions, to embrace self-esteem and self-respect—to affirm their worth at every turn. Yet, in our zeal, we've overlooked a vital companion: self-control.
 
For just because one possesses the capacity to act or speak does not imply that one ought to do so. As the ancient wisdom of Jeremiah reminds us, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9).

Emotions, for all their intensity, are no infallible guide to truth; they ebb and flow like the tides, often leading us astray. How you feel is not a reflection on reality.

Consider the tragic pursuit of self-worth in the ephemeral—in fleeting accolades, unchecked desires, or the applause of the crowd. Such foundations crumble, yielding not life but a shadow of death, an emptiness that echoes the void.
 
But ah, there is a profound alternative, a narrative of redemption penned by the Creator Himself. True life—vibrant, purposeful, eternal—resides in Christ, who declared, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). We, as fallen creatures—all of us having "sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23)—must learn to rein in those passions that war against the soul, cultivating self-control as a radiant fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:23).

It is in submitting our wills to His divine standards of goodness, mercy, and love that we discover genuine freedom, not in the tyranny of impulse.

In a culture that champions "if it feels right, do it," let us pause and reflect: Might there not be wisdom in learning restraint?
 
For the path of surrender to God's design yields not suppression, but sublime liberation. 
How you feel about yourself, or how you see yourself, will not set you free.

The truth alone shall set you free.
 
And that Truth is Jesus.

We enjoyed a wonderful Bible study last night as part of our weekly study. We continued our study from the book of Luke (1:5-25) while also having some fun by playing a "journalism" game. It was a wonderful time!

We enjoyed some Canes food (a staple of our Tuesday nights) along with a lot of great conversation and camaraderie. God is good!

Tonight, I witnessed thousands of students hear the gospel - some for the first time. I also watched as over 75 came to repent of their sins and be baptized for the forgiveness of their sins.

I watched young men from the football team at Ohio State share about their own faith - and what it means to follow God. I then watched some of their own teammates step forward to die to themselves in the water of baptism. Student groups from all over campus served In different capacities as we strove to share the good news of Jesus with over 60,000 students at OSU.
 
I watched as our own students spoke to the students who were requesting to be baptized - I watched them speak to them about what baptism is, what it means, and how we come into contact with the blood of Christ Jesus. I listened as one by one students came forward and were baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit for the forgiveness of their sins.

But this is just the beginning.

Would you be in prayer for these new babes in Christ? Would you be in prayer for us as we minister to them tomorrow, and the next day, and the next? As we speak to them about the church, Gods family, about getting plugged in, about walking in faith each and every day - because tonight was just the beginning.

God is on the move in Ohio - and today is just the beginning. We aren’t done yet.

A huge shout out to our guys for leading in worship this evening. They did a fantastic job. God is good! 

We kicked off our semester with our first weekly "The Bible Study" at CoHatch on South Campus last night and it was a truly wonderful evening. Canes and a Bible study - cant beat that! 

We rejoice with Nathan Thom, sophomore at Ohio State, who was baptized last night! God is truly good! 

As the sun rose this morning, inviting us all to leave the shadows of yesterday behind, I found myself reading this quote:

"There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind." - C.S. Lewis
 
This little moment of reading encouraged me to shift my gaze away from regrets and losses and focus toward the horizon that is "possibility."

You see, today is a new day. A brand new one. One filled with wonder and great opportunity - new people to meet, new conversations to have, new moments of love and encouragement. And, yes, you may be navigating a new career, a new job, a new school, or a new place, but remember that growth often blooms from letting go of the old.
 
Isaiah 41:10 says, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." 
You aren't alone; God is with you.

So, get up on this new day and do something great - and, if you need to, let go of yesterday and look toward the horizon - because there are great things ahead!

New people, new semester, same ol' fun!

We kicked off our new semester with a wonderful meal, some great singing, and a game night. God is truly doing great things in Columbus, Ohio! God is good! 

702 phone numbers. 698 emails. 768 plants given away. 2000+ stickers given away.

Thousands of conversations. Students wanting a ride to church. Students telling us their life stories. Students telling they are “seeking.”
 
All to the glory of God.

God is doing great things on our campus - and I am so grateful. God is good!

Ever wondered where we have our Bible studies on campus? Well, here it is! We are blessed to have an office at CoHatch at the Gateway on South Campus.

This allows us a location that is walking distance for most students, a private area for study and food, and a beautiful location! And, yes, we do have coffee and water on tap!

We meet every Tuesday evening to study the Bible together and you are invited if you are in our area. God is good!
